THE POWER OF INTENTION

Becoming the Creator of Your Healing

I recently listened to an episode of the Spiritually Hungry podcast, where Monica and Michael Berg dove deep into the concept of intention — not just as something we set, but something we live by. It stirred something in me, because intention is the quiet anchor behind all the work I do — in every Emotion Code session, Psychic Medium reading and Painting.
It got me thinking about how much care and presence both myself and who I am working with need to bring into every session, and how foundational intention is in both personal life and professional practice.
Before I begin any reading or healing work, I pause. I take a deep breath, place my hand on my heart, and set a pure intention — one of love, truth, and healing. That moment, though quiet and unseen, is the foundation for everything that follows. To be a clear channel for healing. To allow what is meant to come through.
The Painting That Speaks to Intention
This painting was birthed out of the concept of intention.
At first glance, it’s simple. But the energy behind it, for me, is layered and raw.
We’re in a time where “sober culture” is becoming more mainstream, and for good reason. So many people are waking up to the negative effects of alcohol, and I deeply support that awareness. I’ve also experienced times in my life where I turned to wine out of stress, pain, or overwhelm — and I can say with certainty, the intention behind those moments didn’t serve me.
But when the intention is different — when a glass of wine is shared in pleasure, celebration, in connection, in joy, — the experience becomes completely different. The energy is elevated and creates a much different experience.
This painting is a reminder that even something neutral — like a glass of wine — takes on meaning through our intention. It’s not about the object or the act. It’s about the energy we bring to it.
Intention vs. Goal: The Energy Behind the Action
As Monica explains in the podcast we often confuse goals and intentions, but they are not the same.
A goal is focused on doing. It's often driven by achievement.
An intention is focused on being. It's about the energy and meaning behind your actions.
You can think of intention as the cause — and the experience as the effect.
“Goals are things we set out to do, often with tunnel vision. Intentions are more about what we will and desire — what we’re becoming.”- Monica Berg
When we live and show up intentionally, we’re not just reacting to life — we’re co-creating it.
Living Without Intention (and What That Costs Us)
So many people move through life unaware of their deeper intentions. They fall into habits or patterns not because they’re “bad,” but because there’s no guiding light behind them.
We stay in negative cycles.
We say yes when we want to say no.
We people-please, overextend, or numb.
And when our intentions are unclear, life gets confusing. You can have good intentions, but if they’re tangled in fear or self-forgetting, it’s like tuning into a radio station but being just a little off the dial — the message is there, but all you hear is static.
Knowing yourself is essential to knowing your intention. Without it, you’re pouring energy into everything and wondering why nothing is changing. This can apply to anything in life.
“When you focus on your becoming and your being, that influences your doing.” - Monica Berg
Healing with Intention
Whether I’m working with someone who feels lost in a pattern…Or someone who’s holding grief or pain they can’t explain…Or someone who wants to connect with their loved ones in Spirit…
I start with a simple, powerful question: What is your intention?
Even if the answer is “I don’t know yet,” that not knowing becomes a sacred starting place for us to explore. We work together to get us there.
“An intention is a combination of desire and will — and the strongest intention always wins.”
This is why every one of my sessions — whether psychic mediumship or Emotion Code healing — begins with intention setting. Yours and mine. We declare what we’re asking for — whether it’s clarity, release, guidance, or connection.
Intention in Everyday Life
Everything we do is guided by intention — whether conscious or not.
Gossip can be harmful or healing. The difference? Intention.
A glass of wine can be celebratory or avoidant. The difference? Intention.
Even spiritual practices can become hollow if we forget why we’re doing them.
So I invite you to pause. Before making a decision, sending a text, or stepping into a conversation — ask:
What’s my intention here? Am I acting from love? From fear? From hope?
And most importantly — is this aligned with the version of me I’m becoming?
Because when we act with intention, even if the result isn’t perfect, the energy behind it is powerful. Healing. Clear.
